Our client have a presence around the globe and work within water, wastewater and process challenges within industries including Power, Pharmaceutical, O&G, Chemicals, to name a few. Due to continued success, they are now looking to recruit an Operations Technologist to work within Speciality Water and Process Chemicals at Heathrow.
 
As Operations Technologist will be responsible for achieving defined goals & objectives as well as working safely, compliantly and efficiently within a defined group of customer accounts. The Operations Technologist will take guidance from the Operations Leader and will service, recommend changes, report and communicate treatment performance with customer representatives in accordance with the commercial agreement
 
Responsibilities:
  • Completes Legionella sampling to best practice, and utilises internal systems to document & monitor. Be able to independently follow and document Legionella positive response process.
  • Competently carry out LCA audit checklist on EVS suppliers.
  • Understands the commercial agreement at each assigned customer site and ensure the Account Manager is made aware of any customer requested scope change or over consumption to maintain profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for upgrades, whether chemical dosing equipment, training, analytical services or increased scope of supply.
  • Completes & submits Consultant Service Reports within agreed timescales and ensures CSRs always detail the Observations, Consequences and Actions for the customers attention.
  • Calibration of personal & onsite equipment and generation of calibration certificates
  • Operation of dosing pumps – changing dosing rates as required based on onsite test results and ability to safely prime if required.
  • Independently diagnose issues found onsite and escalate or rectify as required.
  • Diagnose warning/error messages on control equipment and rectify.
  • Ability to install and set up tank level sensors and link to remote tank monitoring.
  • Review alarm limits with product applications specialist, account manager and customers.
 
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Candidates will hold a Degree within Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Be experienced with Cooling Towers and Closed Systems
  • Must have experience with working within the water industry
  • Have experience with Legionella sampling
  • Availability to travel within assigned area, including overnight stops, approx.. once every quarter
  • Possession of valid UK driving license
  • Tools Proficiency with PC skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
