Phase 2c Onshore Lead Systems / Process Engineer Department

The Ichthys Phase 2c (onshore) and CCS project represents a significant development on the Ichthys Onshore LNG Asset allowing production plateau extension and ultimate recovery increase through development of the Plover reservoir. This will increase the CO2 content in the feed-gas stream to a point the existing AGRU will require upgrading to process sufficient gas to keep the processing units at planning rates. At the same time the project will install CO2 compression and dehydration facilities to enable CCS sequestration.

The majority of new infrastructure and plant is intended to be supplied as modules for delivery and hook-up/commissioning at site. The scope will include:

  • 1 module per LNG train with upgraded AGRU amine regeneration equipment and systems
  • 1 or 2 module(s) with a CO2 compression package
  • 1 module with associated dehydration processing to support the CO2 compression package
  • 1 combined local electrical/control modular building
  • An estimated 8-10 interconnecting piperack modules to link the above

The Phase 2c and CCS onshore Project is expected to enter FEED in 3Q 2023 with target DTE in 2Q 2025.
The Onshore Lead Systems / Process Engineer will be responsible for all process design:

• 2c modifications to each LNG train to manage additional CO2 in the feed-gas stream, and maintain the facilities at plateau production rates
• 2c Brownfield modifications to enable the above
• Installation of a CO2 compression and dehydration system that will meter and deliver compressed C02 to an off-site carbon storage disposal system (operator of receiving system/facility tbd)

The position of Phase 2c Lead Systems / Process Engineer will provide crucial discipline engineering guidance and oversight to produce quality process discipline deliverables for FEED to support the development of an execution stage contract and DTE Decision Support Package, and in EXECUTE ensure provision of all detailed process discipline design information and procurement data packages (eg for production chemicals, catalysts, etc) for all Phase 2c (onshore) and CCS modifications.

The position holder will oversee contract and vendor design teams and be responsible for all outputs from process engineering matters for the project.

Deliverable’s timing shall be managed to meet requirements for:
• ITT issue and clarifications during FEED
• To provide timely inputs for subsequent detailed design by delivery oriented disciplines (eg Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Isntr & Controls, etc…) to meet respectively Procurementincluding LLIs, Module Fabrication, and Construction during EXECUTE
• To provide timely inputs for detailed design by delivery oriented disciplines to meet Engineering and Procurement as required to support Shutdown work scopes

The Phase 2c Onshore Lead Systems / Process Engineer shall report to the Phase 2c Onshore Engineering Manager.

Health and Safety
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. At all times, ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of our assets and the environment. Project Management • Manage design interface and integration for all process and production system integration matters for new infrastructure / plant and all Brownfield works for the Phase 2c (onshore) and CCS project
  • Ensure interface with Internal Technical Authorities and Operations Engineering is demonstrated. Ensure that all relevant stakeholders including Tokyo technical division are informed, and their support is secured for all key Project process technical and engineering activities and deliverables.
  • Ensure Lesson Learnt from Phase 1 and Phase 2b are used, and provide LL at the end of the Phase 2c (onshore) and CCS Project
  • Manage the technical input for process and production system integration matters to the development, issue and clarification stages of the execute contract ITT including all relevant specifications and standards and Approved Vendor List.
  • Expedite delivery of process design documentation to meet the required schedules by users (ie Project Team, Contractors, vendors etc)

  • The candidate is expected to demonstrably undertake all activities in accordance with the policies set by client Australia Ltd

  • Define and manage the engineering requirements and quality of process design deliverables for Brownfield works of 2c FEED and EXECUTE stages including through enforcement of relevant portions of the technical assurance plan
  • Manage project TQD’s issued for all process design matters in accordance with the established process to both rapidly assess and respond to technical queries and clarifications from both internal and external parties. This will include managing both temporary and permanent deviations to standards and specifications for the process discipline, and will require engagement of stakeholders and obtaining authorization from relevant technical authorities as needed.
  • Ensure the deliverables needed for process related procurement are provided in line with scheduled procurement activities (including tendering or RFQ as appropriate). Assist client procurement department, or oversee procurement by external providers) by providing technical governance and oversight during procurement phase (eg review of vendors docs /technical assistance/ensure proper IRC at factory delivery).
