Our client, a Tier One Mining Operator, is looking for the next Principal Automation Engineer to join them as they continue to make advancements towards current projects success.
This position is open to candidates interested in full-time permanent and long-term contract opportunities.
With this Perth based role, there will be regular travel to site as required to meet project and safety objectives.
About the Role |The Principal Automation Engineer provides oversight of project technology systems engineering. This is a specialist role requiring in depth knowledge of operational technology, and ideally autonomous haulage systems and sub-systems.
Working with the Lead Solution Architect and OEM technology representatives the Principal Automation Engineer will ensure engineering designs comply with standards.
Highly motivated, with a can-do attitude and successful delivery record, the incumbent will operate effectively within a functional matrix organisational structure. A team player, Principal Automation Engineer will use their influencing and stakeholder engagement skills to actively participate in a high performing team.

- Development systems engineering deliverables in accordance with Technology Standards, Blueprints and Operational requirements.
- Engaging and collaborating with technology stakeholders (internal and external) to drive project outcomes.
- Foundation Technology - Wired network, wireless network, hosting, facilities and fibre.
- Autonomous Haulage Product (AHP) - Enabling Tech, End User Computing (EUC), AHP Applications, Integration & Reporting, AHP Monitoring, and Supporting Technology.
- Site Infrastructure, e.g. design and commissioning of GNSS base stations and on-board equipment.
- Experience in delivering complex operational technology solutions, ideally in an autonomous haulage setting.
- Mentoring and coaching skills that support a high performing team built on a learning mind-set.
- Tertiary or industry qualification or experience in foundational technology (Wired network, wireless network, hosting) or production systems with an in depth understanding of how they fit within the greater OT environment.
