The Job Opportunity
The Norsea Terminal is currently recruiting for an Process Engineer – Start date: ASAP.
Reporting to the Process Engineering Team Leader, the successful candidate will provide engineering support for Operations, Projects and HSEQ departments. As well as day to day support, they will lead and coordinate the effective implementation of Process Safety derived initiatives, minor modifications for continued plant operation and modifications to improve facility economics.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
- Develop and implement Process Safety / Operating Integrity initiatives within the operating Group
- Lead Operations Management of Change process and develop TIs as required.
- Supports the Process Engineering Manager in monitoring plant performance and facilitating improvements to the economic running of the operation.
- Maintains appropriate KPIs, including monitoring of plant utility budgets.
- Providing an immediate response to plant needs with regard to improving Process Safety aspects / Operating Integrity, ensure plant processing capabilities are maintained and drive efficient facility operation within allocated plant zones.
- Support FEL Process Engineers and Operations Managers in developing project scopes. Supports prioritization of projects within operations group.
- Develops and implements minor process modifications (for safety, plant processing capability, efficient operation reasons). Ensures modification process follows facilities Management of Change processes.
- Supports relief valve maintenance program (categorization/sizing of relief valves).
- Performs VRAs as required within operational area.
- Uses Technical consultancies / contractors as appropriate to manage and implement Technical Change.
- Provides resource support to the Teesside Process Safety Engineer as required.
- Leads modification HAZOP / Hazard Review process as required.
- Provide peer review of modifications. Support or lead SIL / LOPA reviews.
- Understand, develop and implement any relevant changes to legislations that may have an impact on the projects at Teesside.
- Participate / lead in incident investigations and provide root cause analysis support.
- Participate in global and functional network to ensure that best practices are shared and corporate standards and technology are implemented as needed
- Represent ConocoPhillips on external committees as agreed
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering – Essential
- Chartered Engineer status – Desirable
- Extensive Process Engineering experience in the oil & gas industry or other regulated industry – Essential
- Incident Investigation qualification (Taproot or RCA) or equivalent – Desirable
- Experience of computer based engineering tools – Essential
- Working knowledge of COMAH – Essential
- Experience of designing and evaluating safety systems – Desirable
- Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP – Essential
- Appropriate Physical and Mental Capability to undertake the role (Work at Height, Work in Confined Spaces, Ability to wear Breathing Apparatus) – Essential
