Department: Process, Safety & Risk Department

Reporting: Reports to Head of Loss Prevention & Risk Engineer

Location: Multiple locations including onshore, offshore, and project sites

Job Purpose: Lead the implementation of process safety and risk management objectives, providing expert advisory support to enhance excellence in safety across all company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement and oversee company-wide process safety and risk management programs.
  2. Provide expertise in loss prevention for engineering projects and deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  3. Lead hazard identification and risk assessment studies, preparing comprehensive reports.
  4. Facilitate the integration of loss prevention engineering procedures in operational assets.
  5. Manage the development of critical safety studies such as QRA, Hazops, and SIL assessments, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.
  6. Coordinate Safety Case & Barrier Management efforts across projects and assets to strengthen process safety culture and risk mitigation strategies.
  7. Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process, ensuring safety integrity is maintained during operational changes.
  8. Analyze process safety performance indicators, identify trends, and collaborate with departments to implement corrective actions.
  9. Support the administration and sustainability of operational risk management processes.
  10. Represent Loss Prevention in safety studies for projects, participating in relevant forums as required.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Safety).
Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years in loss prevention and industrial safety within the oil and gas sector, including 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Expertise in process safety and risk assessment/studies, with proficiency in hazard identification techniques and safety systems.
Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, hazard identification software (e.g., PHAPro), and consequence modeling software (e.g., PHAST).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings/documents and apply analytical thinking to evaluate complex situations.
