Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for both the Lithium Carbonate and Lithium Anhydrous units’ safety, quality, and production. They will continue to develop and foster an inclusive environment where team members are empowered to continuously improve the department. A successful Unit Supervisor has a strong operational and process background, with great time management, is a successful delegator, and can communicate across the company hierarchy effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead production team to zero injuries and zero major incidents.
  • Lead a diverse team to develop an inclusive work environment that delivers safe, reliable, cost optimized production while meeting quality specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with instructions, policies, procedures, and standard operating conditions.
  • Provide clear work instruction to ensure key performance and safety objectives are met.
  • Provide guidance in the development of procedures to standardize routine operations and production rounds while incorporating safety policy requirements.
  • Ensure that all team members (including contractors) are trained and competent for the tasks undertaken, with the support of the training team.
  • Listen to team feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Work with all key stakeholders to prepare for unit turnarounds.
  • Identify potential risks to performance. Lead the team in resolving issues where possible. Escalate to the relevant stakeholders to minimize impact when necessary.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve safety, quality, overall plant reliability, performance, and output.
  • Solve problems to root cause and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Manage conflicting priorities while maintaining key stakeholder interests and relationships.
  • Develop/manage production unit financial budget and spend.
  • Develop and monitor production KPIs, making production changes where necessary to meet these KPIs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Preferably Chemical
  • 5+ Years of experience in operations/manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP, PLC, and OSI PI systems and typical process industry equipment.
  • Experience applying Key Performance Indicators to measure and improve operations performance.
  • Needs to be able to communicate clearly across company hierarchy.
  • Must be able to respond to calls outside of normal working hours to help troubleshoot process issues.
  • RCA experience
  • Hazard recognition skills and ability to teach and train direct reports on hazard recognition.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Prior line leadership experience
  • Lean Management or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Knowledge of HR process, procedures, and policies
