Project Controls Lead (Contract)

The Project Controls Lead provides leadership and coordinates all aspects of Projects Controls, namely:

• Reporting: Generating and disseminating project reports.
• Cost Control: Managing project costs.
• Progress Measurement: Tracking project progress. Schedule Development
• Control: Creating and managing project schedules.

Principal Accountabilities: 

• Validates Project Cost Estimates from Vendors and Contractors
• Implement cost control processes, develop and monitor an effective system of program/project cost controls in accordance with Project Control Plans and procedures.
• Assists in coordinating engineering, construction, commission, etc. activities in conjunction with overall project schedule requirements.
• Implement Cost Control functions that includes but not limited to: Monitor spends against plan, cost phasing, forecast, trends, value of work done projections that aligns with project calendar
• Accountable for the maintaining baseline schedule, updates including schedule forecast
• Perform cost estimating functions, including cost estimate validation, assessment of appropriate inflation factors, and pricing based on
• Prepares monthly reports and analyses on expenditures, progress, commitments, budget and schedule performance. Highlights areas of concern and recommend solutions to bring project on track.
• Provides regular briefing to project manager and project services lead on project financials, schedule status, issues, and concerns from a project controls perspective
• Collaborate closely with project delivery teams both client and internal to integrate all time, and cost information.
• Works collaboratively with Contracts and Procurement such that project controls are embedded in contracts
• Works with Project Finance to align internal and external reporting requirements.
• Ensures that Project Management of Change is implemented in accordance with project requirements.

Key Competencies required:
 

1. SAP Project Systems experience is preferable.
2. Experienced in the use of Primavera or other planning software an advantage
3. Experienced in the use of Cost management systems and software an advantage
4. Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
5. Self directed and shows initiative
6. Graduate of any course
7. Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
8. Solid experience in as project controls in oil and gas projects
9. Continuous Improvement mindset
