Job Description Summary
Project Manager/Engineer is responsible for management, coordination, and accountability for assigned capital projects.  This position will be located at the Magnolia, AR facility and will be part of the Engineering team responsible for executing the sustaining capital portfolio for the site.
Job Description

  • Develop project plans addressing stakeholder needs, manage issues and risks, drive issue resolution, direct resources to accomplish project tasks, and maintain control over projects.
  • Effectively communicate status of projects, including project risks, to stakeholders.
  • Create scope documents based on approved charters and project plans across departments.
  • Create detailed work breakdown structures for successful implementation strategies.
  • Track key project milestones and adjust project plans, budget requests and/or resources to meet the needs of project stakeholders.
  • Manage both internal and external resources to ensure project success.
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including contractor and vendor resources and management.
  • Create project status update documentation on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategy and risks.
Job requirements
  • Candidate will possess at a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferable Mechanical or Civil.
  • Minimum of 8 -10 years of engineering experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry with at least 5 years of project management experience.
  • A leader in safety on assigned projects including setting expectations and being visible in the field.
  • Maintain effective and timely communications with stakeholders.
  • Ability to align project objectives and justifications with various stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of contracting and contracting strategies.
  • Experience leveraging outside services in completion of engineering, procurement, and construction services to complete projects either as a whole or in pieces.
  • Ability to judge the quality of engineering and construction documents.
  • Ability to supervise multi-disciplined teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of project controls and cost forecasting.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze critical path schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering and construction productivity measurement.
  • Basic estimating skills and knowledge of engineering and construction cost structure.
  • Construction package design, including equipment location plans, plot plans, piping design and equipment design.
  • Preparing construction work packages, evaluating bid proposals and selection of contractors.
  • Ensure engineering designs comply with best practice standards and codes.
  • Be aware and knowledgeable of ASME and other applicable codes, piping stress design, equipment layout, civil, structural and machine design improvements.

  • Problem Solving: Must be able to understand and interpret technical material. Must be able to solve problems quickly, completely, accurately, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
  • Knowledge: 
    • Thorough knowledge of project process and practices necessary for successful project execution. 
    • Knowledge of engineering codes and standards. 
    • Practical working knowledge of all engineering disciplines.
    • Self-motivated and possess good organizational skills.
    • Must be able to work alone and accomplish responsibilities with only general direction.
    • Must be able to work as part of a team.
    • Must pay close attention to details, follow high standards for accuracy and completeness, and accept constructive criticism from coworkers.
