Project Engineer

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join a global solar EPC on an 18-month fixed term contract for a project based in New Zealand. To guarantee project accuracy and quality from start to finish, the position oversees scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and supervising all technical activities. This role will oversee the engineering team that the business has subcontracted, which provides all inputs and the project's fundamental design.

THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE LIVING & WORKING IN NEW ZEALAND FOR 12 MONTHS

Responsibilities:

• Preparing, planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering tasks and other technical project activities
• Calculating, writing specifications, preparing bids, reviewing equipment proposals, evaluating or selecting equipment, and creating various lists and overviews, including but not limited to equipment and materials lists and drawings
• Assisting with the upkeep of critical equipment registers, as well as scheduling routine servicing and calibration
• Periodic reporting as required; and • Preparing specifications and Bills of Quantities for purchase orders, contracts, and other documentation.
• Examining engineering deliverables and initiating necessary corrective actions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or civil)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project engineering or project planning
• Excellent knowledge of design visualizations software such as AutoCAD
• RPEQ or NER Chartered certifications
  Availability to work full time in New Zealand when the project starts.
