This role presents rare opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to secure a permanent position with a well-renowned and growing Tier 2 head-contractor, working on a major $50m community project in Melbourne's inner suburbs.

Responsibilities
- Promote total job safety and environmental awareness by employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job vicinity.
- Ensure that safe, environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented and that sufficient plant and equipment is made available, properly operated and maintained, to facilitate proper access and enable any operation to be carried out safely.
- Record and manage expenditure and revenues to maximise project profitability.
- Reviewing and evaluating legislative changes and updating relevant documents.
- Organise and coordinate construction activities in accordance with construction schedules so as to complete the works on time whilst constantly monitoring the status of planning, safety, environmental and quality activities.
- Obtain all necessary statutory approvals and permits prior to commencement of works.
- Provide technical, commercial and functional direction related to all aspects of contracting, and material management, including the administration of project tenders, subcontracts, purchase orders, expediting, traffic and logistics, warehousing, supplier quality surveillance and supplier performance assessment.
- Administer and implement the Project Execution Plan, ensuring that all requirements of the Plan are implemented and that all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards which form part of the contract.
- Select subcontractors and suppliers based on an evaluation of their ability to meet the specified requirements including those for safety, quality and environmental and ensure compliance with same.
- Ensure that all subcontractors are advised of their obligations set out in the contractual documents, and that those obligations are met.
- Ensure that all personnel are inducted in their roles and responsibilities in accordance with the requirements of the Project Execution Plan and all attachments.
- Maintain effective relations with internal and external stakeholders throughout the life of the project.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Construction and Economics Management or Civil Engineering) plus relevant industry experience.
- A minimum of ten years engineering experience in the commercial construction industry, projects greater than $15m, with a demonstrated success in delivering to financial targets, timeframes, planning and logistics management.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities translated into the achievement by staff of individual and team performance objectives and measurement targets.
- Have a strong commitment to safety and accountability for on-site activites.
