Chevron Australia is currently seeking an experienced Environmental advisor to join their Perth based team. The Environment & Quarantine Advisor will be responsible for managing diverse environmental and quarantine focused monitoring programs and safeguard assurance activities across multiple Chevron assets. This will be a 2-year contract with potential to extend.
You will have broad experience and be able to contribute to a wide range of activities including the collation and management of data, technical review of consultant analyses and reports, and contractor management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Manage environmental monitoring and safeguard assurance activities supporting ABU assets and MCPs, including oversight of technical surveys and critical assessment of data and reports.
•Liaise regularly with key stakeholders including business partners and internal teams to ensure effective planning and safe mobilisation of contractors executing assurance activities, including management of site-based assets and equipment.
•Support the E&Q Field Assurance Schedule for all assets including organizing and chairing regular planning meetings and communicating schedule updates to stakeholders on a regular basis.
•Coordinate technical studies designed to better understand risk, environmental impact assessment, and support regulatory approvals.
•Provide technical advice in support of engagement with Expert Panels and other focus group.
•Contribute to the updating of documents and guidelines as needed.
•Manage third party contracts for the provision of monitoring and scientific services.
Key skills and experience:
•Demonstrated project management and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
•Tertiary qualification in environmental science or related discipline.
• Experience working in both terrestrial and marine environments.
•At least 10 years relevant work experience.
•Understanding of environmental approvals at State and Commonwealth levels.
•Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
•Coxswain Grade 1 qualification beneficial but not essential.
•A commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices
