As well as the technical elements of the remediation programme, a major component of the role involves contract management. The annual remediation budget for future years is anticipated to exceed tens of Millions USD covering large-scale works at numerous sites simultaneously.

Key Accountabilities For The Role Include:
- Pro-actively lead the delivery of the Clients' Remediation Programme to reduce ongoing environmental risks
- Lead and develop a team of local national environmental professionals, including national oil company employees and contract staff to support the delivery of the programme
- Develop strategic project delivery plans, budgets, and resourcing
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for remediation management and technology selection.
- Lead contracting events and manage complex contracts in co-ordination with the Clients' Procurement, Supply and Contract Management (PSCM) department.
- Lead HSE for the remediation contractors and when required participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Analyse HSE metrics, contractor self-verification and assurance findings.
- Support oil field operations with key environmental activities including aspects of oil/chemical spill response, produced water and waste management.
- Interface with regulator (such as the Ministry of Health and Environment) and other local stakeholders to close out regulatory commitments and reduce compliance risks.
- Provide support and undertake an active role for the Clients' Incident Management Team (IMT) team.
- Degree or equivalent in Environmental/Earth Science or similar technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in land remediation management.
- Strong execution delivery and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in high-hazard industry (e.g. COMAH sites or equivalent) or oil and gas related leadership is essential.
- Experience with commercial and contractual management of high value projects.
- Experience working within culturally diverse and challenging environments is a distinct advantage
- Good presentation and influencing skills with effective communication skills
- Proven staff coaching and development skills
- Ability to present technical material with confidence and clarity internally within client organisation and externally with contractor organisations
- The ability to work as a team member aligned and committed to the team’s success.
- Proficient computer skills.
