Position: Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer
Reporting to: Chief Engineer
Location: Buckinghamshire

About the Client: Our client is a fast-growing developer in the green energy space, with projects worldwide. They are expanding their team to meet the demands of their growing project pipeline.

Role Overview: The Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer will oversee control & instrumentation aspects of projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious delivery meeting quality standards. Responsibilities include managing control systems, communication networks, operator interfaces, process instrumentation, and installation specifications.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead selection of systems integration, communication networks, and instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain standards for systems and equipment.
  • Evaluate technical bids, assist in supplier selection, and manage relationships.
  • Collaborate to develop process design requirements and software specifications.
  • Participate in project meetings and hazard studies.
  • Provide necessary information to suppliers for design completion.
  • Review supplier drawings against project requirements.
  • Generate controls documentation or manage external providers.
  • Develop technical packages and scopes for installation.
  • Provide C&I input into design activities and support site staff.
  • Assist in budget and schedule preparation and report on technical matters.
  • Conduct factory acceptance tests for software and equipment.
  • Oversee C&I aspects of installation and commissioning.
  • Support site engineers and operations staff.
  • Ensure compilation of all necessary commissioning documentation.
  • Travel domestically and internationally for client visits.
  • Provide C&I assistance for proposals.
  • Ensure activities adhere to health, safety, environmental, and QA procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Degree in a relevant discipline or significant work experience.
  • Proven track record in successfully delivering similar projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of process plant control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to senior management and clients.
  • Strong cost management and commercial awareness.
  • Health, safety, and environmental awareness.
