NES Fircroft are looking for a Senior Cost Engineer to join a major operator on 28/28 rotation in Iraq, with some initial work from London.

Job Description:
The Senior Cost Engineer reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for supporting the respective departments (specifically Wells/Operations/HSE) in the delivery of their feeds into the AWP&B and Forecasting processes. This role will also be accountable for the day-to-day cost tracking/management and serve as the principle finance contact for their respective functions.  
During the setup phase, the Senior Cost Engineer will support the design, implementation and delivery of the AWP&B process, all cost trackers and associated cost and cash forecasting. A key enabler of success will be building and maintaining effective relationships with Heads of Department and NOC/NGC stakeholders.
This is a rotational role and will back-to-back with another Senior Cost Engineer.

Requirements of the role:
  • Responsible for enabling the delivery of the AWP&B book sections for their respective departments in line with the agreed financial framework
  • Build and maintain cost tracking and forecasting models, process and outputs
  • Engage with the NOC and NGC teams, providing coaching, training and mentoring as appropriate
  • Support the development of a culture of performance management in the KPOD, across secondees/assignees from all parties to the DPC
  • Primary point of contact for all finance queries from respective function
  • Deliver the month end actuals process, analysing variances to both budget and forecast to provide meaningful performance narratives.
  • Contribute to the longer-term planning processes, including integration between functions
What you will need to be successful:
  • Deep expertise and experience as a cost engineer in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Proven delivery of actuals/forecast/budget processes in material Upstream businesses for Wells, Operations and HSE functions
  • Previous experience of working in Iraq
  • Track record of process improvement and modernisation
  • Experience in mentoring/coaching national staff
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
