Senior EHS Specialist

We are currently recruiting a Senior EHS Specialist for one of our global Healthcare Manufacturing clients. With over 110,000 employees in 150 countries this is a great opportunity for an experienced EHS Specialist to join one of the world’s largest Healthcare Manufacturers with science and innovation at its core.

The main role of the Senior EHS Specialist is to ensure compliance with all local and company EHS legislation and develop systems and procedures that optimises environmental, health & safety performance. The Senior EHS Specialist will also ensure all EHS procedures are adhered to, creating EHS awareness around the plant and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Role Profile
The main duties of the Senior EHS Specialist will be to:

* Develop, implement and monitor environmental, health & safety programmes to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company technical standards and devise comprehensive EHS training programs to including to chemical management REACH, CLP, environmental management, machine/equipment safety etc. 

* Coordinate site environmental management programmes, driving continuous improvement initiatives including energy, water, and waste reduction etc.

* Identify, report and trend EHS metrics and site EHS issues and concerns through an internal tier report structure

* Develop, implement, and maintain EHS training programs and support EHS training and inductions for new hires with ongoing refresher training for existing staff and deliver EHS related training programmes to all levels within the organisation

* Manage any EHS incidents to closure, including root cause analysis and CAPA management.

* Perform EHS risk assessments such as: area, biological, chemical; ergonomic, new and or modified equipment and make recommendations to control hazards.

* Ensure implementation of the waste management strategy, continually striving to reduce the impact on the environment.

Person Specification 

Suitable candidates for the Senior EHS Specialist will be educated to degree level or equivalent in Environmental Science, Health & Safety or Chemical Engineering and have at least 3 years demonstrable experience in an EHS role within a highly regulated Manufacturing environment such as a Pharmaceutical, Chemical or Medical Devices facility.
