We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in High Voltage (HV) systems to join our team in a role that combines technical leadership and hands-on engineering.
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key leadership role, guiding a team of 3-4 engineers. You will be responsible for providing technical assurance and leadership in the management and maintenance of Refinery assets.
Your role will be instrumental in driving improvements in asset availability and overseeing the entire lifecycle of HV and LV electrical systems.
 

Your role:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of 3-4 engineers, providing technical direction and support.
  • Developing and refining maintenance strategies and documentation in alignment with the Asset Care Plan.
  • Offering technical expertise for troubleshooting, failure analysis, and problem resolution in electrical systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Fostering a culture of safety, performing risk assessments, and managing change processes effectively.
 
About you:
  • Significant experience in maintenance and reliability engineering within industries such as mining, power generation, or heavy industry, with a focus on HV assets.
  • Deep knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting HV and LV electrical systems, including turbo generators, power transformers, transmission lines, switchgear, VVFDs/soft starters, protection relays, switchyards, battery chargers, and UPS systems.
  • Proven experience in developing and optimizing maintenance strategies for HV assets, including generators, switchyards, protection relays, and HV breakers.
  • A strong track record in leading, supervising, or mentoring engineering teams.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Graduate Certificate in Asset Management (desirable).
  • Certifications in Asset Management and/or Reliability-Centered Maintenance (desirable).
