Senior Engineer Occupational Safety
About the Unit
Yara Technology and Projects (YTP) develops new technologies and executes projects to meet Yara’s ambitions on Growing a Nature-Positive Food Future. We work in close collaboration with our key stakeholders such as Yara Clean Ammonia, Yara’s Regional organizations and External partners. Together we are building a more sustainable future for Yara and the World.
In the HESQ department, we are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer Occupational Safety to support us in driving a safe work environment for all.
Responsibilities
To be fully aware of the Yara and Project HES requirements, ensuring that all Company requirements, standards and guidelines are followed and implemented.
To monitor the updates of regulation, laws and standards that may have an impact on the day to day activities.
To support the Project Managers and the Project Teams by reviewing and completing Project HES in construction plans and deliverables.
To coordinate / interact with Yara Site HES organization.
Ensure the outcome of HES studies and contractual agreements are incorporated in the Project HES Construction plans.
To actively participate in project risk assessment sessions with focus on design, constructability and construction activities.
To prepare HES technical specifications and procedures.
To ensure that Yara contractual requirements are properly implemented in projects in design/construction phase by local examinations (audits).
Provide training for projects entering the construction phase: Yara Golden Rules, Dropped Objects, Behavior based safety etc.
Profile
MSc. in an engineering discipline is required
Education in an occupational health topic (Prevention advisor (1,2), NEBOSH, HVK/MVK or similar) is a plus
Min. 10 years of relevant experience in HES in construction phases in large CAPEX projects
Excellent communicator with a respectful no-nonsense approach
Have an outstanding knowledge of occupational safety requirements
Excellent understanding of Health, Environmental and Safety legislation along with its relevance in the chemical process industry/ construction industry.
Hands-on approach and result oriented
Willingness to travel in an international environment
