Instrumentation & Control Designer Job Description

Main responsibilities
Development of P&ID’s
Completion of instrument data sheets and process data sheets
Specification and selection of control and field instrumentation
Carry out site surveys on client sites   
Preparation of wiring and control loop drawings
Instrument Hook up drawings
Termination and junction box schedules
Preparation of schedules for cables and glands, materials and labels
Preparation of cable routing and equipment location drawings
Preparation of a construction scope of work
Responsible for instrumentation CAD drawings, checks and the overall presentation and layout.
Co-ordination of drawing packages for issue and preparing issue folders for electronic files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum of 5 years of instrument experience in light to heavy industry
Appropriate Technical Engineering Qualification (Degree/HNC/HND)
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments
Expertise using AutoCAD and MS office suite
Knowledge of ATEX and equipment for electrically hazardous areas
Knowledge or experience of Functional Safety
