We are currently recruiting a Senior Process Engineer for a Global Oil & Gas Operator in Darwin, Northern Territory on an initial 12-month contract.

Key Objectives:

  • Senior Process Control Engineer is responsible to ensure BoD and FEED consistency in design proposals.
  • The Senior Process Control Engineer needs to be able to develop a comprehensive understanding of the company wide pan-packages processes.
  • The Senior Process Control Engineer has a detailed understanding of operational and engineering processes and has the ability to work closely with colleagues and contractors across a number of different functional areas.
  • The Senior Process Control Engineer is the technical focal point for all Process Control governance, advice and support within the defined sphere of expertise
  • The Senior Process Control Engineer provides discipline expertise and technical guidance to commissioning, start-up and handover teams for all process control systems.
  • The Senior Process Control Engineer fully understands the planning, development and content of package deliverables including design documents, system philosophies, study reports/technical notes, etc.
  • The Senior Process Control Engineer liaise with packages, contractors, discipline leaders and upstream and downstream assets
Planning:
  • Monitor and submit reports on Project Cost Control and Project budget
  • Provide effective interface with other skills group members
  • Plan Process Control documentation in line with the demands of the varying packages
  • Work to Offshore, Onshore and Operations Engineering targets and KPI’s
Technical Expertise:
  • Be responsible for the content and quality of all work within the Process Control discipline
  • Provide specialist engineering input to the development of operational strategies for process control systems
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of Advanced Regulatory Control (ARC) and Advanced Process Control (APC) systems
  • Support the management of Operator Training Simulators (OTS)
  • Provide technical support in the area of Alarm Management
  • Lead, co-ordinate and produce Process Control documentation in line with the demands of operations
  • Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance to run the plant in a safe and optimal manner
 
Qualifications:
  • An Engineering Degree in either in Electrical or Process (Control) Engineering or Computer Systems
  • Verifiable performance and delivery in positions of technical authority
  • Experience in oversight of technical staff & ability to lead a team
  • Experience with the development of and commitment to,engineering systems, procedures and quality assurance
  • Experience of working within a controlled change management culture to ensure that any changes are fully assessed and approved
  • Experience in high availability critical infrastructure
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Technical professional within discipline with project and operations experience
  • Broad understanding of EPC and/or Downstream business processes and principles.
  • Able to organise and/or carry out hands on technical evaluations in own sphere.
  • Good working knowledge with one or more Distributed Control systems typically found in industry (Yokogawa Centum VP, Honeywell Experion etc.)
Additional:
  • 12 Month contract with potential to extend
