** Senior Process Engineer – Project Process Engineering Team **
Location: Huddersfield
Duration: 12 months renewable contract
I am currently recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to be based in Huddersfield for a chemical client of ours.
Job Description:
We require a senior process engineer, with experience of working on a Top Tier COMAH site, to support delivery of capital projects across site. This will involve working closely with the projects department and the plant support teams, providing process engineering expertise throughout the FEED, detailed design, construction & installation stages, as well as leading the commissioning of projects.
Job Requirements:
Must have degree level education in Chemical or Process Engineering, at least BEng or MEng equivalent.
Must be a Chartered Engineer and full Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (MIChemE)
Practical experience & theoretical knowledge in batch processing. In particular, experience related to the Speciality Chemicals industry, or similar.
Knowledge and experience of working on a Top Tier COMAH site.
Experience leading the process engineering of capital projects.

Job Requirements:
- Having a good understanding of Chemical Engineering principles and the underlying theory associated with the definition, design and operation of a wide range of batch unit operations including reactor and vessel design, separation, heat transfer and mixing processes.
- Knowledge and application of HSE standards (e.g. Pressure Relief Definition and Design, Basis of Safety definition, Flammability, Safety Instrumented Systems)
- Knowledge of Process Risk Assessment systems (e.g. HAZOP etc.), and ability to prepare process risk assessment documents and take Process Engineering role in process risk assessment teams.
- Providing scope definition and process design data for Capital Projects and plant modifications
- Drive and ownership of the commissioning of projects and modifications, to ensure that design intent is met, and production is established safely and effectively
