Assist the Processing Manager in: Developing and carrying out process and operating improvements. Monitoring, reviewing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from operational data, test work results and effecting improvements projects. Provide technical support and leadership to the Plant Operations Superintendents
MAIN TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESa. Oversee and monitor execution of pre-operational testing, verification program and plan for cold and hotcommissioning of the Concentrator plant.b. Explore, map, and investigate opportunities for improving existing processes, equipment, technologies,and methodologies to improve Concentrator performance.c. Implement and monitor improvement projects to enhance Concentrator performance, includingprocessing circuit, equipment performance, recovery, reagent consumption, cost reduction, etc.d. Monitor and evaluate Concentrator data and laboratory assays, analyze deviations, track root causes,devise corrective strategies and coordinate implementation with operations staff.e. Compile the plant performance indicators, examine KPI’s trends, prepare the operational dashboard, andpresent it as required.f. Forge and manage the Concentrator’ sampling system, which guarantees the representativeness andquality of samples for plant control, metallurgical accounting, and commercial.g. Propose and execute studies to anticipate the behavior of future minerals, according to the mining plans,to ensure optimal metallurgical performance.h. Administer and improve information management system, for effective data capture and an objectiveanalysis to control and forecast production.i. Facilitate the creation and updating of standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Concentrator andaudit that they are fully understood by operational staff.j. Participate in process design reviews, design criteria and HAZOP studies for new capital projects, anddeliver reports with recommendations.
6. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical or Process Engineering.• Other related qualifications will also be considered, e.g., Industrial Engineering.Preferred Training:• Metallurgical software such as METSIM, HSC, PI, etc.• Ability to perform metallurgical simulations and statistical process control.Experience: • Minimum 15 years of experience in processing plants, including at least 03 years in management of similar processing plants.• Experience with commissioning processing plants in the mineral processing industry, mainly in projects of greater than OMR 40million (USD $100million) capex.Technical Skills: • Technical understanding of the processes of crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering and gold recovery circuits.• Demonstrated organizational Skills for leading a team including PreCommissioning, Commissioning, Operational Readiness, SOP’s development, recruitment, liaising with suppliers and mentoring of team.• Articulate and clear writing style, with proven experience of writing internal communications.Soft Skills: • Proven leadership ability, drive, and commitment.• Capability to interact with multi discipline teams and other organizations.• Ability to work well in a multi-cultural work environment.• Effective relationship building skills with suppliers and contractors.
