NES Fircroft is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist- Team Lead/ Supervisor for a 1-year contract in Calgary, AB.

Responsible for the daily procurement activity within assigned Business Units. May direct Procurement Specialists, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and ensuring all transactions are done in line with agreed terms and conditions seeking maximum value for the company including agreed time and cost.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Executes procurement activity planning to support the Project and Business Unit in meeting its objectives.
  • Executes and owns the procurement plan for purchased items in accordance with Project schedule.
  • Participates in Project from start to close out > plan reviews and demand formulation, construction execution with project team and engineering.
  • Selects Suppliers to fulfill the procurement activity to meet the Project
  • Qualify, negotiate with Suppliers to ensure best outcome for the Project, which may include contract formation in accordance with Supply Chain procedures
  • Enforces and monitors all Supply Chain procedures
  • Sets action plans for improving lead time, cost reduction and on time delivery
  • Reviews, updates, and maintains Open Purchase Orders until closed
  • Monitors and proactively manages past-due Purchase Orders
  • Reports Purchase Order status to the Project team to affirm compliance to Project schedules
  • Consults with Logistics Manager to ensure optimal delivery to meet Project schedule and cost
  •  Identifies factors that have an unfavorable financial impact (Purchase price variance, product compliance, delivery issues), and works with appropriate stakeholders, Supply Chain and Engineers, to identify alternative sourcing opportunities
  • Reviews and resolves purchase order, invoice and Supplier non-conformances
  • Ensures adherence to approved Supplier agreements/contracts
  • Identification and implementation of continuous improvement activities within the Supply Chain Department
  • Identifies opportunities and implements actions to continually reduce wasted time, money and resources form assigned tasks
  • Complies with all local procedures applicable to the job function
  • Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the SC Department or Company.
