Mechanical System & Products is an engineering and execution muscle within the company, working towards cutting-edge technologies and engineering excellence to meet tomorrow’s global energy needs. The department is responsible for concept definition, design and development of next-generation subsea products, project execution both on-shore and offshore. Our products and systems are made to withstand rough conditions, whether its above or below sea surface. Ensuring engineering excellence is key to succeeding in developing and delivering assets to the energy sector. We play a key role throughout the energy industry with a focus on technology development, thereby powering the change towards the energy transition.

We are now looking for a Senior Specialist Material Engineer who want to join our team and who can strengthen our capabilities within our Mechanical System & Products department in Tranby, Oslo/Fornebu and Gothenburg.
 

What will you be doing?
  • Perform material selection, compatibility assessment, corrosion assessment, cathodic protection evaluation, thermal insulation, review of welding and NDT
  • Travelling may be required when following up supplier and manufacturing processes
  • Review and approve procedures related but not limited to manufacturing, welding, NDT
  • Take part in standardization and continuous improvement of products and processes
  • Focus on innovative and sustainable solutions within subsea and other segments (ex. renewables)
  • Interact with internal and external clients as part of tender, studies, and project execution
  • Collaborate closely with global stakeholders and material discipline network
  • Become part of our team of 200+ skilled engineers and contribute towards technologies and solutions necessary for solving the global energy challenge for future generations
 
We think you should have:
  • Master’s degree in Materials Technology and/or Mechanical Engineering with materials related subjects. Other background can be evaluated with relevant experience
  • 10+ years of versatile experience with material technology in the energy and/or process industry
  • In depth experience and competence with manufacturing processes, welding and NDT is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and practices, preferably including welding related standards
  • Motivation to work in a cross-cultural team and interact in a global network
  • Good networking skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English
