The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage and trans-shipment installation. The terminal also fractionates natural gas liquids into
ethane, propane and butane.

The Norsea Terminal is recruiting for a Shutdown Lead (staff position). Anticipated start date: May/June 2023.
Reporting to the Programme & Shutdowns Team Leader working within a shutdown delivery organisation, the candidate will be responsible for the leadership, development and on-time execution of a portfolio of multi-discipline shutdown events.
• Pro-actively lead the shutdown delivery team executing a portfolio of multiple unit overhauls
• Support the Programme & Shutdown delivery team leader by providing supervisory management to the shutdown delivery team including mentorship and day-to-day guidance
• Drive continuous improvement and development of the shutdown delivery model to become best in class
• Responsible for cost control, schedule attainment, forecasting and ensuring that the work is effectively and efficiently delivered
• Carry out audits and readiness reviews to ensure shutdowns are in compliance with the shutdown delivery process and are aligned with key delivery milestones
• Represent Teesside on the Shutdown Network of Excellence (NoE) and other cross organisational working groups
• Interface with the Norway Business Unit Shutdown delivery team including the Greater Ekofisk Shutdown Manager to support the development of the tri-annual Greater Ekofisk Area and Teesside shutdowns
• Proactive management of stakeholders chairing steering committees and other key forums
• Support the preparation of tenders and participate in bid analysis for key packages of work
• Develop cost estimates including submission of formal funding requests.
• Proactive management of the shutdown portfolio with diligent control of any modifications /changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards.
• Analysis of problems with technical input to drive appropriate and pragmatic solutions.
• Provide ownership and active management of 1 or more term service contracts
• Be a visible safety champion within the organisation driving standards and supporting incidents and investigations where necessary
• Represent the Company to site visitors, contractors, and suppliers as required
• Degree educated (preferably chartered status) in an appropriate engineering discipline
• Demonstrable understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Instrument, Electrical, Civil and Asset Integrity
• Demonstrable experience of managing and safely delivering small to medium scale multidisciplined shutdown events
• Extensive Engineering experience in Oil & Gas, PetroChem or other regulated industry
• Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs etc
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills
• Flexible and adaptable, demonstrating a positive “can do” approach to work
• Ability to function well within a team environment
• Demonstrable leadership skills and experience
• Effective time and workload manager
• Ability to use Microsoft packages
• Hold a Full UK driving licence
