Position Title: Manager - Maintenance Smelter

The Manager - Maintenance Smelter is responsible for the overall maintenance of smelting equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities, managing a team of maintenance professionals, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

The Manager - Maintenance Smelter is responsible for the overall maintenance of smelting equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities, managing a team of maintenance professionals, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, schedules, and procedures.
- Oversee and coordinate all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor and improve maintenance practices to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
- Ensure timely response to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination within the team and with other departments.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency response plans.
- Promote a safe working environment and culture within the maintenance team.
- Develop and manage maintenance budget.
- Monitor expenses and optimize resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
- Ensure the availability and proper management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce failures.
- Utilize maintenance management software to track and analyze equipment performance and maintenance activities.
- Continuously assess and improve maintenance processes and practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, including equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and downtime.
- Ensure proper documentation of all incidents, repairs, and corrective actions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in maintenance management.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Skills:
- Strong Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment used in smelting operations.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance, Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Work is primarily performed in a smelter environment.
- Exposure to high temperatures, loud noises, and hazardous materials.
- Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Involve on-call duties.
