Software Engineer

Job Purpose

1. Be an active member of a team of Software and Quality Engineers providing DevOps services to a variety of business functions across the Company
2. Build fit-for-purpose implementations of new functionality in line with the Company’s Digital strategy to ensure customer requirements are met and customer risks are managed,
3. Participate in development of the SMART consumer applications deployed in the Company; enhance foundational technology including the Company Data Platform and associated data engineering tooling
4. Engage with customers to understand and influence requirements. Be passionate about adding business value
5. Help shape the future of the Company Digital programme
6. Understand and embrace Agile and DevOps philosophies. Recognise and promote opportunities for process improvement.

  Accountabilities

1. Contribute to a team of software developers tasked with the delivery and maintenance of software, including new development, and software integration efforts. The scope of this team includes tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including software and web application design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
2. Identify opportunities for improvements in process and technology that will add value for both the wider team and for the business
3. Ensure all activities comply with standards/guidelines from Company IT and Digital Strategies
4. Maintain the team’s reputation for high value deliverables by taking personal accountability for the quality of individual contributions

Education

1. Minimum 4-year degree related to IT

  Work Experience

1. 4-7 years of corporate IT experience
2. .NET Full Stack Developer (SQL Server, .NET Core, ASP.NET)
3. Modern Front-End frameworks (React, Vue, Kendo UI)
4. Azure Services (Functions, Azure SQL, SQL MI, Data Lake, Event Hub)
5. Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
6. Experience working in an Agile or DevOps software development environment, with a proven record of successful project delivery using these methodologies
7. Oil and Gas Industry experience highly desirable
8. Exposure to OSIsoft PI, Oracle, Microsoft SharePoint Online highly desirable
