EMM UK is now supporting a 3-year Frame Agreement that covers primarily Maintenance and Modification at Equinor's offshore platforms Heidrun, Njord A and B, Asgard A and B, Troll A, B and C, Heimdal, and Johan Sverdrup in the North Sea Norwegian sector, as well as the onshore facility at Tjeldbergodden (Norway) and is looking for engineering and design discipline Project personnel to join us.We are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office.

What will you be doing?
  • Ensuring Structural Engineering is executed in accordance with the Project Execution Model / Plan (PEM/PEP) and in accordance with the schedule, budget, and contractual requirements, keeping a focus on Quality and HSSE aspects.
  • Performing Structural Engineering for different project phases from initial feasibility study, concept design, basic design to final detailed design.
  • Preparing and checking structural reports and provide design input for the drawings for the detailed design phase.
  • Ensure project deliverables are generated using Aker Solutions systems and tools.
  • Ensuring that other aspects of the project such as procurement, construction, completion, and operation are given proper consideration and that the structural engineering effort is controlled and delivered within contractual schedule and budget.
  • Updating and revising the related documents and drawings on time according to construction requirements.
  • Preparing structural philosophies, MTOs and specifications. Preparing and delivering technical presentations.
  • Structural engineering integrity and compliance coordination.
  • Risk management, to identify project threats and opportunities related to structural engineering.
  • Liaise with client project and facilities engineering in the execution of the maintenance & modifications project scopes of work.

We think you should have:
  • Preferably experience with Equinor frame agreements, projects, system and tools.
  • HNC/HND level or University structural engineering degree or relevant education with 5 to 10 years of experience in front end studies, FEED and/or EPCI projects from energy sector.
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant structural design codes including AISC and API RP 2A and knowledge of relevant Norwegian regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of computerized information processing both general and specialist for Structural Engineering such as STAADPro and Mathcad.
  • Basic knowledge of design software such as E3D, Navisworks and Autocad.
  • Working knowledge of non-linear software, such as Abaqus is beneficial.
  • Experience in multiple office execution / workshare.
  • Experience in offshore HVDC platforms / wind projects and / or onshore carbon capture projects is beneficial.
  • A good knowledge of design, fabrication and welding of heavy modular steel structures is beneficial.
  • Willing to work in a hybrid structure with regular visits to the primary office.
