The Superintendent Mine Planning is responsible for leadership, management, improvement, and provision for the efficient and effective operation and planning of the mine and navigate strategically. Due to the urgency of this role, we would be looking for those with immediate availability

About the Company

The role presents an opportunity to work with a large global mining operator on a long-term ongoing contract with great working conditions and a high day rate.

Your role will involve:
  • Monitoring and managing all planning activities within the Mine Planning section to comply with the PNG Mining Act and Special Rules;
  • Ensuring that Mine Planning equipment downtime is minimised, and equipment availability is maintained to meet production target;
  • Ensuring that all Mine Planning tasks are in compliance with OH&S and Environmental policy and procedures
  • Continuously improve the processes and systems capability to optimise compliance for medium term mine planning;
  • Aiding the operational departments to deliver the open cut mine's performance targets and maximising the value of the resource;
  • Delivering optimised planning to support operations thus maintaining stable operation; and
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
To be considered, you must possess the following:
  • A Degree in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering;
  • At least 10 years mining experience in a relevant field;
  • Proficiency in mining operations, planning, and designing;
  • In-depth understanding of mining and mine planning processes;
  • Demonstrated competency in planning, budget development and cost forecasting;
  • Excelient stakeholder management with ability to lead and influence a team;
  • Experience in delivering best practise planning advise to the business; and
  • Excellent team player with a high level of communication articulation, strong attention to detail, highly organized and committed to excellence in safety.
