The Supplier Quality Engineer 2 plays a critical role in ensuring the supply base meets all quality, safety, and technical compliance standards. This position focuses on supplier monitoring, product inspections, supplier audits, nonconformance management, and supplier development within the MV/LV electrical equipment domain.
The role requires deep technical knowledge of electrical systems, hands-on experience with supplier quality processes, and strong auditing and compliance capabilities. Travel is required for supplier oversight, FAT activities, and audit execution.

Supplier Monitoring & Product Inspection
- Perform supplier oversight and conduct inspections ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Inspection scope includes:
- Visual and dimensional checks
- Weld and coating inspections
- Traceability and documentation review
- Testing oversight, including Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- FAT examples include transformer routine & type tests, MCC production & type tests, and similar equipment evaluations.
- Conduct routine audits based on supplier risk categorization.
- Execute audits according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Lead auditor certifications (ISO 9001/14001/45001) are preferred.
- Identify supplier nonconformances and initiate containment activities.
- Drive corrective actions and track closure.
- Perform supplier evaluations using ongoing quality performance data.
- Implement supplier quality improvement programs and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support product & process qualification and supplier technical development.
- Prepare periodic quality performance reports.
- Ensure improvement actions are defined, executed, and monitored.
- MCCs, Switchgear, Switchboards, Panel Boards
- UPS systems, Transformers
- Static Excitation Systems, Static Frequency Converters
- Batteries & charging systems
- E-houses, Cables, and Bus Ducting
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (equivalent experience accepted).
- 10+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Management, or Engineering within MV/LV electrical systems and components.
- Experience with supplier evaluation, qualification, product/process qualification, and technical supplier development.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards.
- ISO auditing experience; Lead Auditor certification strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 35% and maintain passport eligibility.
- Hours: 40/week (8 hours/day)
- Hybrid Role: Mix of onsite and remote work
- Assignment Type: Full-time contingent
- Long-term Potential: Extension beyond 13 weeks and conversion to permanent possible
