This position is led from Verdal and is a rotation
Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.

Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure systems/areas are properly marked and isolated before activation, securing entry permissions and intervention safety.
- Assess and prepare PTWs (Permit to Work) for approval, ensuring compliance with access and safety precautions, and evaluate extensions and approvals.
- Secure live power systems per safety procedures and define compensating measures for inactive safety systems.
- Provide input for commissioning test procedures, governing documents, and EIT commissioning procedures.
- Oversee commissioning of systems and subsystems according to project and commissioning procedures.
- Participate in developing plant start-up, performance test procedures, and evaluate commissioning/operation spares.
- Prepare commissioning scope and work packages in PCS, and execute activities including start-up, performance tests, and system take-over.
- Provide progress reporting, PCS status updates, and manage change control (SWCR, Query, Documents).
- Supervise commissioning assistance and vendor personnel.
Qualifications we think you should have:
- Technical/Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent relevant work experience if lacking formal education).
- Strong knowledge of work processes within the relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EPC processes within New Build/Renewables segments.
- Experience with work permit systems.
- Software Skills: MIPS, MS Office 365 and Autodesk Simulate
