Our client are a Global Leader in Speciality Aroma Chemicals, due to growth they are now looking to add a Technical Analyst to their team on a permanent basis, to be based in Teesside.
 
Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Coordinator to oversee the day to day running of the laboratory
  • Review Suppliers and customers specifications
  • Control specifications changes
  • Process out of specification and concessional release paperwork
  • Undertake relevant analysis in respect to complaints and complete within the complaints system in the Coordinators absence
  • Calibrate, develop methods and standardise all equipment and chemicals in line with Quality Systems
  • Ensure samples are processed through QC within the desired time period and priorities are managed
  • Provide planned and reactive instrument maintenance
  • Method development for new and existing materials
  • Support the Coordinator to ensure the following:o Intercompany re-life’s are completed in a timely mannero Stock is within the correct status within Oracleo Work instructions and batch cards are maintained and updatedo Instrument service contracts are in placeo Preventative maintenance provided by service contract provided is completed by thescheduleo Corrective maintenance is arranged and completed when necessary by third partieso All QC personnel are trainedo Plant personnel are advised of product non-conformance and corrective /preventative actions.
  • Become a member of the odour evaluation panel across both site

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Minimum Degree Level Chemistry (or equivalent)
  • Laboratory based analytical experience.
  • Experience of GLC, GCMS, titrations and other wet chemistry analysis is essential.
  • Experience of method development and validation is desirable.
  • Good laboratory practice.
  • Proven ability to build good working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Capable of working under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Good communicator who is self-motivated, dedicated and well organized.
  • Someone who strives for continuous improvement.
