Job Title: Technical Security Advisor
Location: Calgary, AB
Length: 24 Month contract
Rotation: Mon-Fri
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Provide IT plus technical support by fielding user feedback and by providing responses to questions on how the program works, suggested workarounds, and future considerations for program improvements.
Provide technical support of other non-IT plus tools by providing insight on how the existing tools works, and suggested modifications to improve user efficiencies.

Job Title: Technical Security Advisor
Location: Calgary, AB

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Provide IT plus technical support by fielding user feedback and by providing responses to questions on how the program works, suggested workarounds, and future considerations for program improvements.
Provide technical support of other non-IT plus tools by providing insight on how the existing tools works, and suggested modifications to improve user efficiencies.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing modularization requirements for inclusion into IT plus
- Developing estimating methods and identifying shortfall of current published methods i.e. CEPs.
- Developing technical specifications by translating estimating methods and performance requirements into information required by the company IT group to proceed with inserting new or modifying existing IT plus codes
- Providing historical information on heritage estimating tools and methods to transition knowledge to current workforce for incorporating into IT plus and other tools/methods
- Providing basis for rigorous testing of coding developed by the company IT group and running each test to ensure compliance with expected results
- Instructor for Cost Engineering 1 and 2 and co-developer of course materials
- Provide technical advice to interns during Ad-hoc consultation on ongoing Projects activities
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Driving License
- Technical Security Systems Background
- Technical Qualifications / Certificates - Specific to areas within technical security, CPP or PSP Certifications preferred. Computer network certifications desired
- Three years of practical (hands-on) GENETEC experience
- Experience in the design of technical security systems. Access Control, CCTV, Fiber Perimeter and Intrusion Detection System, Intercom Systems etc.
- Technical security gap identification skills. Ability to identify gaps in security that provide an intruder easier access to an asset and ability to identify security hardware deficiency that needs repair
- Demonstrated ability in all aspects of report preparation, including concept, design and production
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to respond to task related pressure - in particular to compressed time lines.
- Demonstrated competency with MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, One Note, Visio and SharePoint
- Demonstrated commitment to SSHE principles
- Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred / desirable
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and as-builds
- Language - English required
