NES Fircroft are working along-side a Major Mining Operator seeking a Technical Writer to delivery a new ERP system in S/4 HANA and role it out to several projects across multiple business streams. This role is predominantly Technical Writing with a component of Internal Change Management required.
Job Title: Technical Writer & Trainer (SAP)

Length of contract: 12 month contract
Location: Perth based
Pay Rate: Negotiable

Overview:
Our client is working on a multi-year program of works that is seeking to optimise the business through the delivery of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in S/4HANA, as well as the execution of several supporting projects across multiple business streams.
The Trainer/Technical Writer role is responsible for managing the design, content and material development to support change activities across our Program of Work (SAP Generalist).
Working in partnership with the Change Manager, the Trainer/Technical Writer will deliver technical writing requirements and as required, may assist in the delivery of training activities in line with agreed priorities and timelines.
Requirements:
- The Trainer/Technical Writer will manage the design, content and material development to support change activities for their allocated business area (Finance)
- Deliver technical writing requirements
- Assist with the face-to-face delivery of training activities in line with agreed priorities and timelines
- Provide support and guidance to the Program by helping to build contextualised information, in line with organisational parameters, policies and systems, to simplify the learning experience.
Develop operationally sensitive, targeted end user training content, plans and schedules
- Liaise with key business and program representatives for training delivery and roll out
- Apply innovative thinking in to how, given organisational system constraints, learning content and business process information may be ‘built’ to challenge traditional SAP training delivery
- Apply appropriate and nuanced workplace context employing a ‘bite size’ chunks approach to growing end user knowledge and experience through blended learning
- Consider issues such as sustainability and effort to maintain learning and training artefacts to maximise the value outcome for the business
- Ensure consistency and alignment of learning and training outputs to support our Program of Work outcomes
- Drive the Change Control Process to ensure timely edits to achieve final version sign off
- Support change networks as required to maximise communication coverage to all levels of our business
- In line with FMG Values, being willing to support across the Program of work as required
- Undertake operational site visits as required
Internal Relations will include:
- Change Lead and Change Management Office (CMO)
- Project Management Office (PMO)
- Business Process Experts (BPEs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- SAP Technical Team
- Program Biillariny business representatives and team members
- Site administrative and operational teams
- Site change networks
Experience Required:
- Knowledge in SAP S4Hana, Success Factors, Fiori
- A deep working knowledge of EnableNow
- Advanced knowledge and skill in visual story design and delivery
- Human Centred design principles
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Advanced skill level in using Microsoft products
- SAP experience, 3+ years, and comfort working in resource environments
- Experience in successfully building and managing information within Enable Now
- Confidence and experience in delivering training, workshops as required
- Demonstrated innovative thinking in the design of adult systems/processes learning content, including best practice
- The talent to translate complex, technical language for non-technical audiences
- A ‘people first’ mindset – to put people at the heart of the learning experience
- The ability to work independently and proactively to deliver outputs to timelines
Education Required:
- Cert IV Training and Assessment
- PROSCI or Neuroscience qualification
