As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality technical documentations for the maintenance of fixed assets across mine operations. You will be expected to have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering and technical writing, and to have demonstrated skills in creating and rectifying maintenance documentation required by the business. You will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and adheres to industry standards and regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting effective QA/QC reviews of technical documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, refine and develop effective documents/PRTs for all existing and new tactics developed, which will improve the
  • safety and efficiency in executing the planned maintenance activities.
  • Develop detailed work instructions ensuing that task details, resources and process steps are accurate
  • Ensure all documentation developed accommodates all requirements of the maintenance activity by engaging with
  • Reliability Engineers, area maintenance and ops personnel to ascertain requirements
  • Carry out peer reviews on documentation in line with the QA/QC systematic process
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and maintain technical documentation for the maintenance of fixed assets across mine operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of documentation processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to technical documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Diploma or Trades Certificate in Engineering, Maintenance or similar essential.
  • Mining or similar heavy engineering/construction experience.
  • Post trade/tertiary qualifications in maintenance management
  • Formal Maintenance Planning qualification
  • Supervisory Training and Experience.
  • Strong technical writing skills with a demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documents.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the mining or heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to mechanical & electrical maintenance documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced skills in Word), Visio, Acrobat and SAP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
