Our client is a global manufacturer of Petrochemicals, with a core product range in acetic acid and acetic anhydride. Due to continued growth of the business, they are now looking to recruit a Technology Development Engineer to identify, develop and be accountable for the delivery of process engineering, technoeconomic evaluation and sustainability aspects of technology development activities to improve performance across assets globally. You will make a deep technical contribution towards delivering milestones aligned with asset improvement roadmaps and to Patent portfolio to protect IP.
 
Responsibilities
  • Delivery of core elements of technology development projects aligned with asset roadmaps
  • Accountable for delivery of all process engineering and techno-economic elements of the technology development programme
  • Deliver process engineering aspects of transfer of technology developments onto assets
  • Accountable for process technology development freedom to operate assessments.
  • Deliver deep technical expert evaluations to support business development assessment of sustainability projects globally e.g. carbon capture, low carbon acetyls and blue hydrogen opportunities
  • Accountable for delivering process technical evaluations to support business development activities
 
Experience & Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold a Degree qualification, or PhD in Chemical / Process Engineering Discipline
  • Experience in acetyls and syngas process economics evaluation, process technology development and quantification of sustainability impacts
  • Knowledge of chemistry, catalysis, development and scale-up of acetyls process
  • Skilled in identification, development and mitigating risks of process technology improvements
  • Experience of scale-up and deployment of technology developments to drive improvement in commercial asset performance
  • Skilled in building technical business cases and delivery of process technology development programmes
  • Deep technical expertise in chemical engineering, conceptual process design and process modelling.
  • Knowledge of early stage estimating of Capex and Opex for new or retrofitted technologies.
  • Depth of knowledge on aspects of sustainability and assessment of opportunities to reduce operational carbon emissions and to embed renewable / circular carbon in acetyls products
