Aker Solutions in Oslo are now looking for Telecom Engineers to strengthen their team.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Development and completion of common system design including;
- Responsibility for telecom subsystem on the overall field and onshore
- Responsibility for standardisation of subsystems and system solutions across all assets
- Provide required information on systems and equipment to all assets (incl. EPCs)
- Develop and update common system design requirements and topologies
- Responsibility for establishing, responding to and following up actions/activities in the PIMS system
- Arrange regular telecom interface meetings with relevant interface parties
- Establish, distribute and follow up MOMs from the interface meetings
- Perform reporting to Telecom discipline lead and interface management
- Clarify telecom system issues/questions with telecom subsystem responsible and respond to interface contractors
- Responsibility for equipment quality and completeness of telecom packages
- Review, comment on and approve supplier documentation
- Handle any changes to scope and specification from/to supplier
- Assure that equipment requirements are understood and implemented across the assets
- Give input to PRB with regards to package schedule and cost
- Perform required system analysis, calculations and verifications
- Follow up Vendor, FAT/SAT when needed
Required skills and experience:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in telecommunications or other engineering field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of offshore telecom system engineering within relevant industries like oil & gas/energy, marine etc.
- Skilled in platform telecommunication systems such as PAGA, PBX, data, GMDSS, fiber optics, power supply, personnel tracking, UHF Tetra, CCTV
- Experience of detail design and follow-up phases within large offshore projects, ideally with experience of projects in the North Sea/NCC
- Experienced with telecom package preparation, handling and follow-up
- Fluency in written and spoken English
