Telecoms Engineer

NES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with a major oil and gas operator who are looking for a Telecoms Engineer to work on one of their key projects in Paris. You will be working on a major project. The position will be on a 1 year renewable contract. The schedule will be Mon – Fri. In return the individual will be provided with an attractive rate.

The service holder shall manage the supervision and coordination of the activities related to telecom engineering carried out by the EPSCC contractor, focusing on the successful and timely execution of the project


The main duties of the position:
HSE:

1. Demonstrate of an exemplary behaviour with regards to HSE
2. Implement HSE requirements within the Telecom area

Engineering:

1. Supervise and coordinate the telecom engineering related activities performed by the EPSCC Contractor
2. Provide support and expertise and contribute with regards to his discipline
3. Provide support to challenge and support of the Contractor in the value engineering exercise. Promote alternatives design to optimize cost, work and schedule
4. Timely review and comment of engineering documents and consolidate comments related to telecom deliverables; liaise with other engineering specialist(s),and entity (Operations, HSE,…) as required
5. Ensure that the engineering activities related to telecom matters are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, FPSO Key Technical Requirements (Clients General Specifications not applicable) , with required level of quality, high HSE standards, within the agreed time schedule and cost.
6. Prepare the deviation requests to FPSO Key Technical Requirements, follow up of the instruction by Clients Head Office experts to ensure timely answer
7. Promptly respond to engineering clarifications, request for deviations and unexpected technical issues, by a proactive and proficient approach
8. Conduct studies leading to technical decision making and issue of recommendation to Project Management
9. Liaise with Head office to get expertise when required in specific telecom subjects;
10. Assist Procurement activities;
11. Assist Commissioning and Operations in the preparation of their activities;
12. Support in the preparation and participate in Project technical reviews, provide answers and ensure timely implementation of the findings in its discipline;
13. Ensure proper reporting activities, highlighting critical issues to the Engineering Manager and proposing of remedial actions
