We are currently recruiting a Terminal Transition Manager for a Major Global Energy Operator in Kwinana, WA on an initial 12-month contract with potential to go beyond this.
The successful candidate will report into the Energy Hub Manager, and will be required to be a member of the site Senior Leadership Team. The role will provide management oversight, integration and support to multiple workstreams, and lead the transition of terminal operatorship, ensuring readiness for operation that meets regulatory and  internal compliance requirements.
Key points on the role:
  • Our client is re-purposing the existing Kwinana site to an energy hub, to support net zero aims, and is anticipated to support the future production of Renewable Fuels, Hydrogen, and continuing to deliver fossil fuels through the existing Terminal Facility. The Terminal Transition Manager supports this strategy by leading the operatorship transition of the terminal facility from the existing facility operator.
  • This is a diverse leadership role, requiring a high level of people and communication skills, emotional intelligence, influencing and integration capability, with an ability to lead multiple workstreams across a range of business areas including operations, maintenance, engineering, production planning and HSE. The Transition Manger will provide Project Management reporting and updates to senior leadership.
  • This role will be based at the Kwinana Energy Hub site, in Kwinana Beach, and is also expected to liaise with key stakeholders including the incumbent operator, regulatory departments and other teams, both within Kwinana and other states.
What you will deliver:
  • Provide Project Management Oversight to the Terminal Transition activity, ensuring operational readiness to undertake terminal operation, meeting regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
  • Lead diverse, multiskilled worsktreams, support the establishment of transition objectives and milestones, support workstreams to remove barriers and ensure integration of activity sets and alignment between workstreams.
  • Direct line management of the Terminal Change Management Lead, who will support the Terminal Transition Manager with assessment and implementation of changes to the business.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders, including internal  teams, contracting partners and external parties and regulators as required, to ensure needs & constraints are understood and managed.
  • Support site communication and change management for the transition, and support other  site leaders to implement and lead their teams through the changes from the transition outcomes.
  • Lead the management of change process to implement the transition outcomes.
Experience & Qualifications: 
  • Engineering/Business degree required.
  • Experience in leading business change and transition, or operational readiness essential. Experience in refining, oil & gas or chemical operations desired.
  • Safety and People Leadership - Demonstrated safety leadership, particularly as it relates to operation of hazardous facilities. Demonstrated ability to demonstrate care for people and support organisations through complex and challenging change
  • Communication, EQ and Integration capability - Strong capability to communicate and interface with various and diverse team members, ensure team alignment on goals and objectives, and support teams to resolve issues with behaviours aligned with the clients values.
  • Highly motivated, well organised and able to engage with stakeholders with a constructive and effective approach.
  • Project Management capability - sound understanding of project management principles and tools, to enable effective reporting and oversight.

  • The Kwinana site is home to some of the leading renewable energy projects, along with the existing terminal facility, a key part of Western Australia's hydrocarbon infrastructure, with key stakeholders across multiple areas of the business both in Australia and the world. You will be a key part of the Kwinana team establishing the future ways of working for the Kwinana site, and ensuring success of the energy hub into the future.
