We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Vice President of Project Development to drive the sales and project development cycle of our clean tech projects up to the Final Investment Decision (FID) stage.
Job Summary: The Vice President of Project Development is a critical leadership role responsible for spearheading the sales and project development activities of our clean tech projects. The primary focus will be on developing and executing strategies to ensure project success up to the FID stage. This role requires a strong blend of technical acumen, business development expertise, and leadership skills to navigate the complexities of the clean tech industry.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sales and Business Development:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to identify and secure clean tech project opportunities.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, potential clients, and partners.
    • Lead negotiations and collaborate with clients to finalize project agreements and contracts.
  2. Project Development Cycle:
    • Oversee project development from concept to FID, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met.
    • Manage project teams, including engineers, finance professionals, and legal experts, to drive project development.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and risk assessments to ensure project viability.
    • Develop and maintain project budgets and financial models, tracking financial progress throughout the development cycle.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements.
  3. Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of project development professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture that supports the company's mission and values.
    • Set clear goals and expectations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure necessary project approvals and permits.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies, industry organizations, and local communities.
    • Represent the company in industry conferences, seminars, and networking events.
  5. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports and presentations to the executive team and board of directors.
    • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, contracts, and records.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven track record in successfully developing clean tech projects, with a focus on reaching FID.
  • Extensive experience in sales, business development, and project management.
  • Strong financial acumen and proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the clean tech industry, market trends, and regulatory landscape.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
