As part of the NES Fircroft “KindNES” programme, the NES Fircroft Europe teams are running a mass litter picking event and charity walk on Friday 24th June. Staff in the region will be raising funds for specially chosen charities which support families and young people throughout Europe.

The UK offices will be walking in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and families affected by terminal illness, with the Warrington office also supporting WeMindTheGap who work with underprivileged youth to help them through hardship. Our Poland office will be collecting for One Day who support young people leaving orphanages in becoming independent adults.

Our German colleagues will be raising much needed funds for the children’s hospice Sterntaler who help children with life-shortening illnesses and their families, whilst the French office is walking in aid of Apprentis d’Auteuil which helps young people to find apprenticeships. Our office in Switzerland also raised funds for Save the Children who work to support the most deprived children worldwide.

Gregg Burton, Regional Director of Europe and Africa says:

“This year we formed a regional charity committee with representatives from across the region to help coordinate this event. Having obtained feedback from our teams throughout Europe the consensus was to run an inclusive event that would enable as many staff as possible to participate together on the day.

Whilst raising both money and awareness for our charity partners was high on the agenda we also wanted to put something back into our local communities and with this in mind actioning the “Steps To A Greener Future” idea was born! Completing the 15,000 step challenge individually, whilst simultaneously cleaning the streets, parks and forests in our hometowns we hope to do our bit for the environment whilst raising money for our chosen charities. We hope the event itself will prove to be an inspiring day for everyone involved.”
