Position Overview
An Oil & Gas company is seeking a Biodiesel Lab Technician to support laboratory operations focused on product quality and feedstock validation. This role involves hands-on testing, data analysis, and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality programs.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Testing
  • Conduct routine testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and co-products.
  • Accurately record and report test results.
Analytical Testing & Data Interpretation
  • Operate laboratory instruments such as:
    • GC-FID
    • Karl Fischer titrator
    • Densitometer
    • ICP
    • Sulfur analyzer
    • Analyze and communicate test results to management.
    • Calibrate and verify instruments per ASTM D6751, EN 14124, and internal protocols.
    • Participate in quality programs including SQC, BQ-9000®, AGQM, and FSMA. Lab Maintenance & Troubleshooting
      • Prepare laboratory standards and reagents.
      • Support continuous improvement initiatives for lab accuracy and precision.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
      General Duties
      • Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.
      • Complete administrative tasks and timely data entry.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.
      Qualifications
      Education
      • Associate degree in a science-related field preferred.
      • Relevant laboratory experience may substitute for formal education.
      Experience:
      Technician: minimum 2 years of relevant lab experience
      Skills
      • Strong verbal and written communication
      • Attention to detail and documentation
      • Ability to follow instructions and manage multiple tasks
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
      • Preferred: Experience with SAP, JD Edwards, or AVEVA™ PI System™
      Work Requirements
      • Availability for rotating shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours) and overtime
