The Certified AWS Welder / Mechanic is responsible for performing high-quality welding and mechanical repair work on industrial, marine, and rotating equipment components. This position requires strong technical skills, precision workmanship, and adherence to safety and quality standards in all shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding, fitting, and fabrication work in accordance with AWS certification standards.
  • Repair, rebuild, and maintain mechanical components such as frames, housings, shafts, and rotating equipment parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and mechanical drawings to determine repair and fabrication requirements.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick) and perform structural or pressure welds as required.
  • Conduct mechanical disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of equipment as part of overhaul or repair processes.
  • Inspect completed welds and assemblies to ensure compliance with dimensional and quality specifications.
  • Maintain tools, welding machines, and work area in safe, organized condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certified AWS Welder (D1.1 or equivalent) required.
  • 3+ years of experience in welding and mechanical repair (industrial, marine, or heavy equipment preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform disassembly, fitting, and alignment tasks.
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Proficient in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, SMAW); cutting and grinding experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment, engines, or power systems preferred.
Key Requirements

  • Certified Welder
  • Strong skills in TIG, SAW, and GMAW
  • Cast and Alloy steel experience preferred 
  • Mechanical Experience

Additional Information: 
  • 1st shift 60-70 hrs a week
  • Working Conditions: Shop (Climate Controlled)
  • Very Competitive on Pay (Eligible for pay increases within 6 months) 
  • Annual Bonus 2.5%
  • Pay $30 - $40/hr
