NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for a Consents Coordinator for our client, who are an industry leading power cabling company.

Consents Coordinator
Location: Seaham, County Durham (hybrid work)
Contract Position

The Consents Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the management, tracking and delivery of environmental, sustainability, and consent-related obligations set out in the project’s contractual documentation. This includes monitoring compliance with the Contractor’s Environmental Performance Requirements (CEPR), the Contractor’s Sustainability Performance Requirements (CSPR), and the Onshore Environmental & Sustainability Minimum Requirements.
The role is data-driven, requiring strong use of Excel and tracker systems, with coordination across environmental, planning, land, and sustainability disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
Tracker & Data Management
Develop and maintain comprehensive Excel trackers capturing obligations from CEPR, CSPR, and Minimum Requirements documents.
Monitor progress against deadlines for consents, permits, and deliverables (e.g. CEMP, Carbon Management Plans, Risk Assessments, BREEAM submissions).
Produce dashboards and monthly compliance reports for project leadership and client.

Compliance & Documentation
Support the preparation, submission and logging of required environmental and sustainability deliverables (e.g. CEMP, SWMP, Pollution Prevention Plans, Resource Efficiency Plans, Species Protection Plans).
Maintain records of consents, permits, licences and ensure conditions are tracked to closure.
Support audits, inspections and evidence collation for regulators, client, and independent assessors.

Coordination & Communication
Act as a central point between design, construction, land, planning and environmental teams to ensure obligations are understood and delivered.
Track and support applications for secondary consents, permits and notifications (EA, SEPA, NatureScot, Natural England, local authorities).
Liaise with subcontractors to monitor compliance with environmental and sustainability minimum requirements.

Sustainability & Reporting
Support collation of data for BREEAM Infrastructure, PAS 2080 carbon management, and Social Value reporting.
Track delivery of circular economy, biodiversity net gain, and resource efficiency commitments.
Provide data to support resilience planning, ethical labour, and sustainable procurement obligations.

Essential Skills & Experience
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting, dashboards).
Strong experience in maintaining trackers for compliance, consents, or obligations.
Knowledge of environmental or planning consents frameworks.
Experience in construction, infrastructure, or energy sector project environments.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for coordinating across multiple teams.

Desirable Skills & Experience
Background in land agreements, town planning, or environmental consents.
Experience with sustainability frameworks (e.g. BREEAM Infrastructure, PAS 2080).
Familiarity with ecological survey requirements, site restoration, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience supporting audits, inspections, or regulator engagement.

Able to interpret contractual/environmental requirements and turn them into practical tasks.
Strong team player, comfortable liaising across different disciplines.
