Contract Specialist
We’re seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to provide end-to-end commercial and contractual support across major mining projects. This role is integral to ensuring contracts are effectively drafted, negotiated, administered, and aligned with project and business requirements. You’ll gain exposure to high-value procurement, CAPEX project spend, and strategic contract management, while working closely with project and commercial leaders across their Queensland operations. The role will require site travel at least once per month potentially more.

We’re seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to provide end-to-end commercial and contractual support across major mining projects. This role is integral to ensuring contracts are effectively drafted, negotiated, administered, and aligned with project and business requirements. You’ll gain exposure to high-value procurement, CAPEX project spend, and strategic contract management, while working closely with project and commercial leaders across their Queensland operations. The role will require site travel at least once per month potentially more.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full contract lifecycle from preparation, drafting, and negotiation through to award and administration.
- Prepare and manage RFQs and RFTs in line with company governance and project requirements.
- Lead and support commercial negotiations with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate contract records and ensure timely renewals, variations, and close-outs.
- Collaborate with project, finance, and commercial teams to ensure smooth delivery of project objectives.
- Support procurement initiatives for major goods and equipment purchases.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in contract management systems and processes.
- 5+ years’ experience in contracts, procurement, or commercial roles ideally within mining, resources, or heavy industry.
- Strong understanding of contract drafting, negotiation, and administration.
- Proven experience managing RFQs and RFTs end-to-end.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to travel to site in Queensland 1–2 times per month.
- Qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, or Procurement (advantageous).
