The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and overhaul of large diesel and gas engines, turbochargers, and related rotating equipment used in marine and power generation applications. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals to ensure reliable equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection, repair, and overhaul of diesel and gas engines, turbochargers, and rotating components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct precision measurements, alignment, and reassembly to OEM specifications.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with safety and quality standards
  • Prepare accurate service reports and documentation of completed work.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in diesel or marine engine repair, or rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of engine systems, including coolers, filters, and separators.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and service bulletins.
  • Experience with OEM systems such as Wärtsilä, Caterpillar, or similar preferred.
Additional Information
  • Work Environment: Shop (Climate Controlled)
  • Pay: $30 - $40/hr (based on experience)
  • Bonus: Annual 2.5%
