Electrical Specialist

Location: Taylor, TX
Reports To: Southern Reliability Center Superintendent
Travel: Up to 50% domestic
Accessibility: Off-hours availability required

Job Overview We are seeking a Reliability Electrical Specialist to support the safe and reliable operation of the Client’s production facilities. The role focuses on maintaining critical electrical systems, identifying reliability risks, and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies across multiple sites. This position requires strong technical judgement, independence, and the ability to deliver effective solutions in the field.

Key Responsibilities (Focused Summary)

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medium- and high-voltage electrical distribution systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including IR thermography, transformer oil analysis, and power quality analysis.
• Lead or support investigations into equipment failures and assist in resolving chronic electrical issues.
• Provide on-site or remote technical guidance to plant and contractor personnel to ensure safe and effective electrical work.
• Plan and estimate electrical work for maintenance events and turnarounds.
• Analyze equipment performance data to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining medium-voltage (5kV–15kV) electrical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with computers and standard software (MS Office, email, etc.).

Desired Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering Technology, or Licensed Journeyman Electrician.
• Understanding of relevant regulatory and industrial codes and standards.
• Familiarity with control and instrumentation systems in an industrial environment.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as Infor EAM.
