Job Title: Environmental Inspector
Contract Period: 12 months (Renewable)
Location: Brownsville, TX
Rate: $50 per hour
Per Diem: $150/day Summary of the Role
The Environmental Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring environmental management and regulatory compliance on an active LNG construction site. This position works closely with the Construction team to deliver quality environmental outcomes and maintain adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement environmental programs and procedures to ensure site compliance.
  • Conduct physical site inspections to monitor stormwater BMPs and erosion/sedimentation control plans.
  • Identify and address environmental violations or concerns.
  • Document observations and required actions in written reports.
  • Communicate findings with project personnel to facilitate timely responses.
  • Track and maintain compliance obligations.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training to site staff.
  • Educate personnel on permit requirements.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Audit project plans and requirements (stormwater, SPCC, waste, air).
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater, SPCC, and waste management.
  • Experience with compliance management systems.
  • Preferred: Experience on FERC-regulated projects and familiarity with TCEQ.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Windows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Ability to collaborate with Construction, Craft, and Engineering teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Federal and State requirements for LNG terminals.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork on a construction site.
  • Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, etc.).
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods during a full shift.
