Job Title: Field Chemist – Well Test Campaign (18-Month Contract)
Location: Various Field Sites (FIFO/Field-Based)
Duration: 18 Months
Reports To: Production Chemistry Lead
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Field Chemist to support a multi-phase Well Test Campaign over an 18-month period. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing field-based hydrocarbon and water sampling, analysis, and data interpretation to support well tests, reservoir characterization, and flow assurance.
Successful candidate must be comfortable with a dynamic schedule subject to change.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Field Chemist to support a multi-phase Well Test Campaign over an 18-month period. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing field-based hydrocarbon and water sampling, analysis, and data interpretation to support well tests, reservoir characterization, and flow assurance.
Successful candidate must be comfortable with a dynamic schedule subject to change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Sampling & Analysis:
- Conduct routine and campaign-based sampling of fluids (oil, gas, water) during well testing operations.
- Perform on-site chemical analyses including salinity, pH, H₂S, CO₂, and basic compositional screening.
- Ensure sample integrity and proper chain-of-custody for laboratory analysis.
- Data Management & Reporting:
- Record and validate field data in accordance with QA/QC protocols.
- Prepare daily and end-of-test chemical reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and production chemists to interpret results.
- Operational Support:
- Assist in the setup and calibration of portable lab equipment and test kits.
- Monitor chemical injection systems and advise on dosage adjustments.
- Support flow assurance monitoring (e.g., foaming and emulsions).
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to Company HSE policies and procedures.
- Participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with environmental sampling and reporting standards.
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of field experience in oil & gas operations, preferably in well testing or production chemistry.
- Strong understanding and experience with portable lab equipment and field analytical techniques.
- Strong understanding of well test principles and chemical treatment programs.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in remote environments under a dynamic FIFO schedule.
- Must hold valid licence for light vehicles in Queensland
- Experience with PVT sample handling.
- In Depth knowledge of laboratory techniques for hydrocarbon and water analysis.
- Exposure to well test planning and execution workflows.
