Title – Field Specialist III
Location: Alberta, Canada
Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension
Start date: ASAP
Shift: Monday – Friday from 8am to 8pm (weekends as needed)

Summary:
As a Field Specialist, you will operate company equipment to retrieve and manage core samples, ensuring accurate marking and inventory control at the surface. You will collaborate closely with operators and field crews to maintain successful wellsite operations, while performing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in challenging outdoor environments, including Canadian winter conditions.

This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You will act as a project leader, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical advice to customers and third-party colleagues. Work is evaluated by supervisors, management, and customers to ensure objectives are met.

Key responsibilities:
  • Operate equipment to retrieve and manage core samples.
  • Support wellsite operations with operators and field crews.
  • Perform field equipment maintenance and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Work outdoors in demanding conditions; lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Provide professional communication and guidance to customers and colleagues.
  • Lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, legal requirements, and core values.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Professional communication skills with internal teams and external customers
  • Experience in field engineering or related wellsite operations preferred

Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced and noisy environment with constant movement.
  • Regular lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to move 50 lbs at times over a 12-hour shift
