Financial & Management Accountant

We are partnering with a mining operator to recruit a Financial & Management Accountant for a newly created position within their finance team. This position will sit in their Brisbane offices and has been created to help strengthen financial reporting capability, support ongoing growth, and provide greater commercial insight across the business. The successful candidate will play an influential role across both operational and corporate finance, contributing to strategy, performance analysis, and continuous development of financial processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting, analysis, and performance commentary, ensuring data integrity and insightful decision support
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, partnering with operational stakeholders to align financial plans, while monitoring risks and opportunities
• Maintain strong governance, compliance, and internal controls, supporting audit requirements and financial risk management
• Collaborate with operational, project, and leadership teams to support commercial decisions, business cases, and capital/operational expenditure reviews
• Drive continuous improvement by enhancing financial processes, systems, and reporting, including digital and automation initiatives

Skills & Experience Required Essential

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• CA or CPA qualified 
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards
• Proven experience in management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong communication and stakeholder influence skills

Highly Regarded

• Experience within mining, resources, energy, or similar complex industrial environments
• Exposure to foreign-owned businesses or private organisations
• Mandarin language capability advantageous
